For its first Open Call, the Comic Art Europe project allowed five talented artists to develop their art by taking a two-week residency in one of our partners’ institutions.

These artists were selected for the projects they submitted on the chosen theme: “Visions of Tomorrow”. One year later, they were able to exhibit their work in two great exhibitions that took place in June 2022 at Lyon BD festival, and in October 2022 at the famous LICAF.

All those projects were greatly received by the comic art fans, and we decided to share one with you …

Maria Surducan’s project “Timemongers” is a fairytale told on stage. Blending images and music, she produces a complete show approaching many actual topics, under the unique form of a Live Draw Concert. In this video, she is accompanied by a noted composer and performer, Julien Limonne.
